- Cake:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 (11.5 oz.) jar pear preserves, heat in microwave enough to warm up and mix up a bit so it will blend throughout batter
