Sliced potatoes in a delicious creamy sauce on the bottom then topped with a ground beef mixture
- BEEF:
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 small green bell pepper, seeded and chopped, optional
- 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- up to 1/2 teaspoon dried chili pepper flakes, optional
- seasoning salt or regular white salt, to taste
- Fresh ground black pepper, to taste
- SAUCE:
- 2 (10.75-ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
- 1/3 cup onion, minced
- 3/4 cup light cream
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- ASSEMBLE:
- 5 to 6 russet potatoes, peeled and sliced thinly
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
