- 2 cups crookneck pumpkin purée
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, sliced
- 2 (49.5 fluid ounce) cans chicken broth
- 2 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
- salt and pepper to taste
- sherry to taste
- cream to taste

Step 1
1-Saute onion and garlic in butter, until soft, set aside.
2-Bring broth to a boil, cook potatoes about 15 min or until soft.
3-Add spices, pumpkin and onion mixture to broth.
4-Use handheld blender, process until smooth.
5-Continue to heat soup, adding S&P, sherry and cream to taste.
