Ingredients

    pounds lean ground beef

  • 3/4

    pound chestnuts, quartered

  • 1 to 2

    large onions

  • 1 1/2

    sticks of butter

  • 2

    teaspoons salt

  • 1

    teaspoon pepper

  • 1

    teaspoon cinnamon

    tablespoons milk

  • 1

    cup pine nuts

  • 3

    medium to large apples, cubed

  • 2

    cups chicken broth

  • 1 1/2

    cup rice, Carolina brand, uncooked

Directions

In a large pot (think spaghetti), soften the onions with the butter over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until brown. Add all the other ingredients; bring to boil and simmer until the liquid is absorbed (and the rice is cooked). Cover pot (but not fully) with lid.
