Gemelli with Broccoli Rabe, Bacon & Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. coarsely chopped broccoli rabe
  • 8 oz. gemelli pasta
  • 6 slices center-cut bacon
  • 3 thinly sliced garlic cloves
  • 1 15 oz. can chickpeas, rinsed & drained

Preparation

Step 1

Bring 4 qts, water boil. Add broccoli rabe, cook 2 min.
Remove with slotted spoo; draub wekk and coarsely chop.
Return water to boil. Add pasta & cook to al dente, reserving 3/4 C water.
Cook bacon in large skillet over med. heat til crisp.
Remove bacon from pan, reserving 1 T drippings; crumble bacon. Increase heat to med.-hi. Add garlic & chickpeas; saute 2 min. Stir in broccoli rabe, salt & pepper; cook 3 min. Stir in pasta & reserved water & bacon. Toss well & serve.
