Blueberry and Pink Grapefruit Sorbet Coupe

Ingredients

  • Grapefruit:
  • Blueberry"
  • 1 1lb.bag frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup med-dry concord wine
  • 5 med.-large pink grapefruit
  • 3/4 cup plus 1 Tbs. sugar
  • 2 Tbs. vodka
  • fresh blueberries, fresh grapefruit segments

Preparation

Step 1

for blueberry:
combine all ingredients in med. bowl
let strand until berries thaw and sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally about 2 hrs. or cover and chill overnight
transfer to bender or processor
blend until smooth with bits of blueberry
transfer to ice cream maker
process according to manufacturer
spoon into container and freeze at least 3hrs.

Grapefruit Sorbet:
cut, peel, remove pith, release segments
squeeze any juices remaining into bowl
transfer to 4 cup measuring glass
place 3 cups fruit and juice mix in blender or processor
add 3/4 cup plus 1 Tbs. sugar and vodka
blend until almost smooth and dissolved
about 2 min.
taste for sugar and add if necessary
blend to combine
transfer to ice cream maker
process according to manufacturer
spoon into container, freeze 3 hrs.

arrange 1 scoop each in dessert goblets
garnish with fruit pieces
