A combination of my old recipe with a vegetarian recipe

  • Garnishes:
  • 2 T olive oil
  • 1 med onion, chpd
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 slices bacon, chpd
  • 2 stalks celery, chpd
  • 2 green peppers, chpd
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 2 T. oregano
  • 1 T. salt
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 1/3 c. chili powder (mixed with some warm water)
  • Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (1-3 peppers to your taste, chpd - 3 is HOT!)
  • 2 - 4 oz cans green chiles
  • 3 - 28 oz cans whole tomatoes, crush with your hands
  • 1 - 15 oz can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 - 15 oz can garbanzo beans, drained
  • 1 - 15 oz can black beans, drained
  • 1 - 15 oz corn, drained
  • sour cream
  • jalapenos
  • shredded cheese
  • chpd green onions
