Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean beef, such as round cubed about 1 1/2"
  • 1 acorn squash peeled, seeded, and cut in 1" pieces
  • 2 large red potatoes cubed in 1 1/2" pieces
  • 1 large onion quartered, and sliced 1/4" thick
  • 1 package dry mushroom gravy mix
  • 1 can diced tomatoes with juice - (14 1/2 oz)
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly-ground black pepper
  • 2 large bay leaves
  • Salt to taste
