Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 # brisket - in lg.pan
  • 1/2 c. soy sauce
  • 2 T. oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 'h t. browning sauce
  • 1 t beau monde
  • 1 (1/4oz)pkg. onionsoup mix;add;blend;pour over brisket
  • 5 c. water
  • cover tightly;cook in 350* for 2hours
  • 3 lg sweet onions,sliced
  • 1/4 c.butter

continue cooking covered 1h
remove from pan and let stand 20min
add 2c water to liquid; keep hot
carve brisket against grain into thin slices
toast roll halves- place beef; liquid on rolls;grated swisse cheese;broil until cheese melts
