Tomato Dumplings

  • Cook together:
  • 1 large can tomatoes
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 onion, cut up
  • Butter, size of an egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Dumplings:
  • 1 egg, beaten stiffly
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • butter, size of an egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • (add enough milk to make a stiff batter)



Step 1

Drop in spoonfuls in above mixture and boil 20 minutes without lifting lid. Serve at once. Don't let it burn.
