Ingredients

  • 3 medium onions sliced
  • 1 small cabbage head cut in wedges
  • 1 corned beef brisket - (3 to 4 lbs)
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar - (packed)
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
  • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1 jar spiced apple rings - (14 oz)

Preparation

Step 1

Place onions and cabbage in crockery cooker. Trim fat from brisket; place meat atop vegetables. Stir together cider, brown sugar, orange peel, mustard and cloves; pour over meat. Cover; cook on LOW-heat setting for 8 to 10 hours.

Garnish platter with apple rings. Pass mustard; if desired.

This recipe yields 6 to 8 servings.
