Preparation

Step 1

1.In a medium bowl, whisk together the sesame seeds, poppy seeds, sugar, olive oil, vinegar, paprika, Worcestershire sauce and onion. Cover, and chill for one hour.

2.In a large bowl, combine the spinach, strawberries and almonds. Pour dressing over salad, and toss. Refrigerate 10 to 15 minutes before serving

Suggestions:

1. substitute other fruits such as pineapple, oranges, or applesa can or two of mandarin oranges, .

2. My advice is not to skip the onion even if you don't like them because they play an important role in the taste of the dressing. You can hardly taste them in the dressing as the onion taste is not the dominant taste but they play an important role in marrying the sugar and vinegar together to create the specific taste this dressing has.

3. put all the dressing ingredients in the blender and puree' instead of trying to finely chop the onion and whisk everything together. MUCH easier!

4. Crumbled feta cheese is also good on this salad if you like feta and crushed walnuts are a good (and cheaper) substitute for the almonds if you don't have almonds on hand.

5.chill dressing ingredients and pour when serving to keep from
