Sticky Ginger-Garlic Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • Chicken:
  • 3 T red pepper sauce
  • 2 T vegetable oil
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/2 t pepper
  • 5 lb chicken wing drummettes
  • 1 C Gold Medal all purpose flour
  • sliced green onions
  • Glaze:
  • 1/2 C packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 C rice vinegar
  • 2 T grated gingerroot
  • 1 T Sriracha sauce or 1/2 t crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 t soy sauce

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 375*. Line 2 cookie sheets with heavy duty foil; spray foil with cooking spray.
2. In 2 gallon resealable food storage bag, mix pepper sauce, oil, salt, pepper and chicken. Seal bag; shake to coat. Add flour; seal bag and shake to coat chicken with flour. Place chicken on cookie sheets.
3. Bake 50-60 minutes, turning chicken once and rotating pans halfway through baking time, until chicken is golden brown and juice of chicken is clear when thickest part is cut to the bone (at least 165*).
4. In a 1 qt saucepan, mix all glaze ingredients. Heat to simmering over medium heat, stirring frequently until sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
5. Place chicken in large bowl; pour glaze over chicken and toss to coat. Sprinkle with onions.
