Sesame Tuna with Lime-Wasabi Aioli

Ingredients

  • Aioli:
  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1-2 tsp powdered wasabi
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • Tuna:
  • 1/3 cup white sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp black sesame seeds
  • 4 (5oz)Tuna steaks (1" thick)
  • 2 tsp dark sesame oil

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all aioli ingredients in small bowl let stand 25 minutes.
Meanwhile combine white and black sesame seeds in shallow dish. Dip tuna in sesame seeds, turning to coat both sides and pressing seeds gently into tun.
Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Cook tuna 2-4 minutes or until lightly browned on outside but rare in center turning once. (watch sides of tuna as it cooks. Area near top and bottom surfaces should turn gray, but center area between them should be visibly pink or red) Serve with aioli
