Brisket of Beef and Potato Pancakes

Ingredients

  • Potato Pancakes:
  • 3-4 lb. Brisket
  • garlic powder
  • salt
  • vegetable oil
  • 5 large onions sliced thick
  • 1 packet of Lipton Onion Soup mix
  • 2 eggds
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 teasp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. flour 1/4 teasp. baking powder
  • 3 cups of raw potatoes cubed (I use russet potatoes)

Preparation

Step 1

Season both sides of brisket with garlic powder and salt

Add enough oil to bottom of dutch oven to sear both sides (about 5 mins.)

Slice about 5 large onions thick (1/4")

Add 1/2 cup water and 1 packet of Lipton Onion Soup mix

Cover and bake for 3 hours @300 degrees.

Potato Pancakes:
mix all ing. into blender adding half potatoes at a time.
Fry in oiled frying pan like pancakes.
Serve brisket with horseradish and top each serving with onions and juice of brisket
