Ingredients

  • 1 lb okra
  • 1 lb tomatoes
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 small jalepeno
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery(optional)
  • salt and pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Wash and trim okra, cut into 1/2 inch pieces. Peel, seed(optional), and chop tomatoes. Finely chop/mince jalapeno and garlic. Heat butter and oil in skillet. Stir in okra, onions, and celery; saute until lightly colore, about 5 minutes. Add tomatoes, garlic and jalapenos; saute 3-5 minutes longer. Season to taste and serve.
