Ingredients
- 5 slices bacon
- 2 tbs unsalted butter
- 3 large shallots, sliced thinly
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 brussel sprouts, trimmed and outer layers removed, quartered
- 1/2 c chicken broth
- 2 tbs balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp sea salt
- coarse black pepper

Step 1
Cook bacon in heavy skillet, 10 to 12 mins. Transfer to paper towel-lined plate; pour off fat except for 1 tbs fat.
On medium heat, add butter and shallots to same pan and saute for 1 min. Add sprouts and saute for 3 min. Add broth; cover and cook until crisp and tender, about 3 to 5 more mins. Uncover; cook off excess liquid. Add vinegar and sugar and cook stirring about 2 mins. Crumble bacon and add to sprouts. stir in salt and pepper to taste.
