Ingredients

  • Frosting:
  • 3/4 3/4 3/4 C. crisco
  • 1 1/2 1 1/2 1/2 C. sugar
  • 4 4 4 eggs
  • 1 1/3 1 1/3 1/3 C. milk
  • 1 1 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1 1 tsp. lemon extract
  • 2 2 2 C. flour, sifted
  • 3 3 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 1/4 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 2 2 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 1 1/2 1/2 C. sugar
  • 1/4 1/4 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 6 6 6 Tbsp. water

Preparation

Step 1

Cream crisco and sugar together. Add eggs, one at a time. Add remaining ingredients. Pour in 2 round greased cake pans. Bake 375F for 25 minutes.
Frosting:
Combine all ingredients on a double boiler. Beat on high setting until peaks and add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
