Ingredients
- 1 *1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 *1/2 cup shortening
- 1 *1 egg
- 1 *1 cup milk
- 2 *2 cups flour
- 1/2 *1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 *2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 *1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1-1/2 *1-1/2 cups blueberries

Preparation
Step 1
Cream shortening and sugar; add egg. Mix well.
Mix together flour, salt, and baking powder; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Mix well. Add vanilla. Fold in blueberries carefully.
Fill greased or papered muffin cups. Bake at 400° for 15 – 20 minutes. Should make about 1 dozen.
Note:
If using frozen berries, do not defrost - they will turn your batter a very unappealing blue if you do.
