Tuna Steaks with Avocado Relish

Ingredients
- Avocado Relish :
- 2 tuna steaks, about 6 ounces each
- 1 teaspoon grated lime peel
- 1 finely chopped garlic clove
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- black pepper to taste
- 1 Tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon chopped cilantro
- 1 avocado, chopped
- 1 Tablespoon lime juice
- 1 Tablespoon chopped cilantro
- 2 Tablespoons minced red onion
- chopped fresh tomato or mango to taste

Step 1
Remove skin from the tuna steaks, rinse steaks, and pat dry. In a small bowl, make a paste with the lime peel, garlic, olive oil, cumin, coriander, and black pepper, adding more olive oil, to make a spreadable paste, if needed. Apply the paste thinly to both sides of the tuna steaks. Heat a non-stick ridged skillet, then press the tuna steaks into the skillet to seal. Cook steaks at low heat, 5 minutes per side : steaks should be heated through on the inside. Sprinkle steaks with lime juice and cilantro. To make avocado relish, combine the avocado, lime juice, cilantro, and onion, adding either tomato or mango to taste.
