Ingredients
- 3 lbs apples, cut into slices
- 6 oz fresh or frozen raspberries
- 3/4 c sugar
- 1/4 c flour
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp butter, cut into pieces
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tbsp heavy cream
- sanding sugar

Preparation
Step 1
Stir apples, raspberries, sugar, flour, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt in a large bowl. Fill pie crust with apple mix, dot with butter. Drape pie crust on top, fold edges and crimp. Make slits on top. Chill 20 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375. Whisk yolks and cream, brush over top of pie. Sprinkle with sanding sugar.Bake on a sheet 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes. cover top if too brown. Cool 4 hours minimum.
