    ;4 lb. lean round steak. cut into

  • thin strips

    tablespoon margarine or butter

  • V2 cup chopped onion

  • ¼

    teaspoon pepper

  • cups beef broth

  • ¼

    cup dry red wine"

  • ¼

    cup lemon juice

  • ¼

    teaspoon cloves

  • V3 cup gingersnap crumbs

  • 1

    tablespoon brown sugar

  • Salt to taste

    oz. (4½ cups) uncooked wide

  • egg noodles

  • 2

    tablespoons margarine or

  • butter

  • 2

    teaspoons poppy seed


In large skillet. brown round steak in 1 tablespoon margarine. Add onion and pepper: cook until onion is tender. Add broth. wine. lemon juice and cloves: bring to a boil. Stir in gingersnap crumbs and brown sugar. Simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until sauce thickens. Add salt to taste. Meanwhile. cook noodles to desired doneness as directed on package. Drain: rinse with hot water. Toss hot noodles with 2 tablespoons margarine and poppy seed. Serve meat mixture over noodles. Garnish as desired. 4 servings.
