Canadian Bacon & Sausage Stuffed French Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French Bread
  • 1/2 cup butter or spread, softened
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1 T. onion flakes
  • 1 T. poppy seeds
  • 1 T. dried parsley
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese, cut into 8 triangles
  • 8 pieces Canadian bacon
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cup pre-cooked sausage crumbles

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Place a 3 foot long piece of aluminum foil on the counter.

Cut the loaf of French bread lengthwise, horizontally so you have a top half and a bottom half.

Mix butter, cream cheese, onion flakes, dried parsley and poppy seeds until smooth.

Spread the butter mixture on the top and bottom halves of the bread.

Layer the Swiss cheese on top of spread and follow by Canadian bacon and sausage crumbles.

Put top of bread back onto bottom half, wrap in foil, then bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes.

NOTE: If you freeze, thaw in refrigerator, preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake for 20 minutes wrapped in foil. Open foil and bake an additional 5-10 minutes.
