  • 1/2

    tsp. salt

  • 2

    eggs

  • 1

    can sour cherries

  • 2

    cups flour; sifted

  • 1

    cup boiling water

  • 2

    tsp. baking powder

  • 1

    cup sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Grease 9x9x2" glass baking dish Sift flour and baking soda together in small bowl. Mix butter and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time beating after each addition. Alternate flour and milk with butter mixture. Mix well until all incorporated. Drain cherries; add juices with boiling water; bring to re-boil. Sprinkle cherries over batter. Sprinkle with 1 cup sugar over batter. Pour boiling liquid over cherries. Bake for 45 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream.
