Souperior Meatloaf and Tomato Glaze

Ingredients

  • 1

    pouch Lipton Onion Soup Mix

  • 2

    eggs, beaten

  • 1/2

    cup (125 ml) ketchup

  • 1/2

    cup (125 ml) fine bread crumbs (I use crushed soda crackers)

  • 2

    pounds (1 kg) lean ground beef

  • 1/4

    cup brown sugar

  • 1/4

    cup ketchup or Heinz Chili Sauce ( I prefer chili sauce)

  • 1

    TBSP prepared mustard

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 C). Blend together Lipton Onion Soup Mix, eggs, 1/2 cup ketchup, and bread crumbs. Add ground beef and combine well. Shape into a 9 x 5 inch (2L) loaf pan. Mix 1/4 cup ketchup, brown sugar and mustard together. Spread over meatloaf. Bake for 70 minutes.
