Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 a. p. flour
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1 T baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 6 T cold unsalted butter cut into pieces
  • 1/2 c pumpkin puree
  • 1/3 c buttermilk
  • 2 T a. p. flour or more as needed
  • 1 egg, 1t milk for egg wash
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/3 c raisins

Preparation

Step 1

. Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees

. Combine the 1 3/4c flour, 1/4c sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt

. Cut the butter into the dry ingredients with a pastry cutter until the dough resembles coarse crumbs

. Make a well in the dough and add the wet ingredients and mix until just combined

. Roll dough into a rectangle and fold into thirds, repeat 2 more times, cut dough into 6 equal squares, cut the squares into triangles and place on a baking sheet, mix the egg and 1T of milk together and brush onto the tops of the scones, bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes
