Slow Cooker Apricot BBQ Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs chicken wing drummettes, frozen
  • 18 oz bottle BBQ sauce or approx. 2 c
  • 1 c apricot preserves
  • 1 t ginger powder
  • 1 T garlic powder
  • 2 T Worcestershire sauce

Step 1

In a med bowl, combine all the sauces and spices. Remove about 1/2 c of the mixture and refrigerate for later.

Add the chicken wings to a large slow cooker, then cover with the sauce. Stir until wings are well coated and cook on low for 6-8 hrs or high for 3-4 hours.

Once done, set oven to broil and line a baking sheet with foil.

Remove wings from slow cooker and place on foil. Drizzle with some of the slow cooker sauce if desired. Broil for approx. 2 min.

Remove pan from oven, flip wings, and brush wings with the remaining sauce you saved in the frig.

Return to oven and broil for 3-5 min until sauce starts to caramelize.
Remove from the oven and serve.
