Ingredients
- 2 acorn squash
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 3 tbsp dry sherry or apple juice
- 1 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1/4 tsp salt

Preparation
Step 1
1. cut squash in half crosswise, remove seeds & membranes
2. Pour water into 5 - 6 qt. slow cooker. If necessary, stack squash halves in slow cooker so they fit. In a small bowl, combine all remaining ingredients; mix well. Spoon into squash halves.
3. Cover; cook on high for 3 - 4 hours.
Serve filled with cropped crisp red apples & coarsely chopped toasted walnuts if desired.
