Step 1

Slice potatoes and onions into 1/4 inch slices.

Layer potatoes on the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch dish. Sprinkle the potatoes with garlic salt. Put a layer of onions on the potatoes. Put several pats of butter or margarine on top of this layer. Repeat these layers two or three times (depending on the amount you want).

Bake covered in a 350 degree oven for about 43 minutes. Remove cover and bake about 15 minutes longer (until potatoes and onions are tender).
