Sweet Potato Apple Dog Treats

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup cooked plain mashed sweet potatoes
- 3 tbsp chicken or beef broth (or water)
- 2 cups (can use organic) 100% rice or oat flour (or can use 100% wheat pastry flour), plus more for dusting
- 1/2 cup fine yellow cornmeal
- 1/4 cup finely chopped mint
- 1 Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored and grated

Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
2. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper; set aside.
3. In large bowl, whisk together sweet potatoes and broth.
4. Add flour, cornmeal, mint and apples and stir until combined.
5. Knead the dough a few times until it holds together.
6. Roll out half of the dough on a generously floured surface until about 1/4-inch thick
7. Use (2" to 4") cookie cutters to cut out treats.
8. Transfer to baking sheets;
9. Reroll and cut the scraps.
10. Bake until dried and just slightly golden on the bottoms, 35-40 minutes.
11. Turn off the oven, leave oven door ajar and let the treats cool and dry out in the oven for 1-2 hours.
Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze if storing longer.
