  • 3 tbs. olive oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • For the Sauce:
  • 3 long hot Italian peppers – remove seeds and slice
  • 3 red bell peppers – sliced
  • 4 cloves of garlic – chopped
  • 1 sweet onion – sliced
  • 2 cups dried apricots – chopped
  • 28 oz. can of crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil – chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 oz. shredded mozzarella or your favorite shredded cheese
  • Romano or Parmesan cheese – for grating
  • Cornmeal
  • More Olive oil (for drizzling)
