Asian Chicken Spinach Salad

1. Prepare mushrooms; sprinkle mushrooms caps with salt,pepper,and sliced garlic and broil on high for 5 minutes
- SALAD:
- 2 bags fresh spinach
- red,yellow,orange peppers sliced into strips
- 3 portabela mushrooms,cleaned
- 3 cloves garlic
- salt pepper
- pine nuts
- cherry tomatoes
- 3 chicken breasts
- DRESSING:
- 1/3 cup oil
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 tbsp. rice vinegar
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 1 garlic clove,crushed
- 1/4 tsp. fresh pepper
Shitake, Beef, and Barley Soup

1. Season beef with salt and pepper
- 1 pound flankin
- salt
- black pepper
- 3 teaspoons olive oil, divided
- 8 ounces fresh shitake mushrooms, stems removed and sliced
- 1 1/2 cups chopped leeks
- 1 1/2 cups peeled, chopped parsnips
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 7 cups hot water
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes in juice
- 1/2 cup pearl barley, uncooked

- Dough:
- 1/4-ounce package yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup scalded milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup butter flavored shortening
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
- Filling:
- 1/2 cup melted margarine, plus more for pan
- 3/4 cup sugar, plus more for pan
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup raisins, walnuts, or pecans, optional
- Glaze:
- 4 tablespoons margarine
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 to 6 tablespoons hot water

- 1 large head romaine lettuce,cut up
- 2 small kirbys,peeled and cut into half moons
- 1 cup sliced button mushrooms
