crockpot Carmelized French Onion Soup

- 1 10 1/2 oz. can beef consommé, undiluted or homemade
- 1 10 1/2 oz. can beef broth, undiluted or homemade
- 2 C. water
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 C. dry white wine
- 6 C. large croutons
- 1 C. (4 oz) shredded Swiss cheese
- 2 extra-large sweet onions (about 3 lbs.)
- 1 10 1/2 oz. can chicken or beef broth, undiluted
- 1/4 C. butter or margarine
Hot Mulled Cider

Mix all ingredients in crock pot
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 quarts apple cider
- 1 **1 tsp. allspice
- 2-1/2 **2-1/2 tsp. cloves
- 3 sticks cinnamon

Creamy Potato Salad

1 Cook potatoes in boiling, salted water until tender
- 6 medium potatoes (2 pounds)
- 1/2 lb bacon, prepared as in Recipe # 242966
- 1 cup thinly sliced celery
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/3 cup sweet pickle relish
- 1 1/4 cups mayonnaise or 1 1/4 cups salad dressing
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons celery seeds
- 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 hardboiled egg, coarsely chopped

- 1 3-5 lb. beef roast
- 1 can Dr. Pepper
- 1 C. water
- 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
- salt
- pepper
- 3 cloves garlic
Browned Butter Mini Pizzookies (Deep-Dish Cookies)

- 1 1/2 C. all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 C. brown sugar (or white sugar plus 1 tsp. molasses)
- 1/2 C. (1 stick) unsalted butter, cut into 8 slices
- 1 lg. egg, room temperature
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 3/4 C. chocolate chips or 4.5-oz. bar, chopped
- 1/3 C. pecans, lightly toasted and roughly chopped

- 1/2 lb (250 g) mozzarella cheese
- 8 thin prosciutto slices (optional)

- 1/4 cup (50 mL) butter
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) dry mustard powder or 1 tsp (5 mL) Dijon
