  • 2 # ribeye or strip loin, trimmed of fat
  • 4 soft hoagie (sub) rolls
  • 4-6 oz button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbl vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbl unsalted butter
  • 1 Tbl all purpose flour
  • 2 C whole milk, warmed
  • 1 C provolone, grated (not sliced)
  • salt & pepper to taste

  • 1 1/2 C powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teas vanilla
  • 2-3 TBL evaporated milk
  • 1/2 C English toffee bits
