Sauce con Tonnno (Tuna Sauce)

Ingredients

  • 1 32 oz. can whole Italian Plum Tomatoes plus 3 tomatoes and about 1/2 cup juice from the second can.
  • 4 Cloves Garlic roughly chopped
  • 2 anchovy filets
  • Large pinch dried basil
  • Pinch dried chili flakes
  • Small palm full dried oregano
  • 1 Tsp salt or more to taste
  • 1/4 Tsp. ground black pepper
  • 3 Cans Italian style Tuna in Olive oil drained

Step 1

Break up tomatoes with hands in bowl and season with salt, pepper, basil and oregano. Set aside

In large pot heat olive oil over medium heat. Sautee garlic with the chili flakes. Tear up anchovies and add them to pot. Stir and let anchovies melt. When garlic starts to brown, add the tomatoes. Bring to a boil then add the tuna. Lower heat and let simmer about 20 minutes cover and reduce heat to low.

Serve with 1 lb of cooked Spaghetti.
