Beef with Noodles


Easy Stroganoff-type recipe that can be cooked on the stove or in the crockpot
My family can't decide if they like this over the noodles or the rice so I make both and they eat both.
Great meal for a cold day

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • One medium onion
  • 2 large cloves garlic
  • 3 pounds of beef Rump roast
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 1/2 cups red wine
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • two bay leaves
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 3 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 lb egg noodles
  • white rice



Step 1

Chop onion and garlic and brown in Olive oil
Cut meat into 1 inch cubes and brown slightly
Pour beef broth, soy sauce, and red wine over meat mixture
Add bay leaves, salt and pepper
Simmer on low covered for 7 hours adding water if necessary or
Cook in crockpot on high for 5 1/2 hours

Prepare egg noodles and rice according to directions

Mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Slowly stir into meat mixture to thicken gravy
serve over rice and/or noodles
