    cups all-purpose flour

  • 1

    egg, beaten

  • 2

    tsp. garlic powder

  • 2

    tsp. dried oregano

  • tsp. cayenne pepper

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1

    (12-oz.) bottle of beer

  • 3

    large onions, peeled, sliced into rings, and separated

  • Oil for frying

  • Dipping Sauce:

  • 1

    cup mayonnaise

  • ¼

    cup ketchup

  • 2

    Tbsp. horseradish

  • ¼

    tsp. paprika

  • 1

    tsp. fresh dill, chopped

Directions

To prepare the onion rings, preheat the oil to 370°F. In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, egg, garlic powder, oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Gradually add the beer, stirring until a thick batter forms. Dip the onions into the batter and deep-fry in batches until golden brown. To prepare the sauce, combine all the ingredients in a small bowl. Serve with the onion rings.
