Pear Walnut Salad
- 1/2 cup oil
- 3 T. Vinegar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teasp. celery seed
- 1/4 teasp. salt
- 4 cups lettuce, torn into bite-sized pieces
- 1 pear, cored, chopped or sliced
- 1/4 cup toasted walnut halves*
- 2 oz. blue cheese, crumbled
In jar with tight-fitting lid, combine all dressing ingredients. Shake until well blended and sugar is dissolved. Refrigerate to blend flavors. In large bowl, combine all salad ingredients. Just before serving, pour dressing over salad; toss to coat. 4 servings.
TIP: *To toast walnuts, spread on cookie sheet. Bake at 375F for 3 to 5 minutes or until golden brown, stirring occasionally. Or, spread in thin layer in microwave-safe pie pan. Microwave on HIGH for 3 to 4 minutes or until light golden brown, stirring frequently.
