Ingredients

  • 2 c milk
  • 2 14oz cans diced tomatos, drained
  • 2 rounded T tomato paste
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3 T flour
  • 2 T margarine
  • 1/2 stalk celery, chopped
  • 1/2 c fresh basil, chopped

Preparation

Step 1

heat milk to a simmer over medium heat in a medium pot. put tomatoes, tomato paste, onions, salt, pepper, sugar, flour, margarine and celery in food processor and grind until smooth. pour mixture into milk and raise heat to bring soup to a boil. reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes
stir fresh basil into soup and adjust seasonings. pour soup into mugs.
