Ingredients
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 ½ cups chopped onion
- 1/3 cup chopped celery
- 3 cups cut up carrots
- 1 ½ cups diced turnip
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 5 cups chicken broth
- Pinch cayenne
- Pinch nutmeg
- ½ cup cream

Preparation
Step 1
Saute onions and celery. Add other ingredients except cream and bring to a boil. Simmer approximately 30 minutes. Puree in blender or food processor. Immersible works well. Add cream if desired and also add a bit of fresh dill or dill weed.
