Remarks and reviews...
Made this for a BBQ I had this Saturday. I agree that it was too "eggy" so next time, as well as frying the bacon first and will cut out a few of the eggs. I added a chopped jalapeno to the veggie mix for some more heat and a cup of grated jalapeno cheddar. I also added bread crumbs to the top and the entire dish was gone by the end of the night.

Amazing recipe! I added a little red pepper to recipe. Same amount of peppers but red pepper has a sweeter taste. It also added a little color to dish. The next time I make this I will only put bread crumbs on the bottom. They were a little too brown on the sides of dish. Thanks for the new twist on corn

Saw this on DDD and everyone was liking it..even Guy, who hates eggs, so I thought I'd try it for my families Easter dinner instead of the traditional baked corn. Sadly, it was not the hit made out to be on the show (and other reviews too Now I didn't mind the taste and texture at all but almost all the people in the family did not agree. They said it was too "eggy" or "breakfasty" and I only used 4 eggs. These are BIG people who eat almost anything and a lot of it! Only half was eaten so I took it home and froze it so hopefully it freezes well. Beware of the egginess and shame on Guy if he mislead us for the sake of the show! I mean he HATES EGGS!

Good stuff. I made as my dish for a crawfish boil. None left.

This was my first try with the recipe so I followed it as written. Next time I will fry the bacon first and fry the corn and vegetables in the bacon grease. Also, skip the bread crumbs and dust the dish with cornmeal.

I loved this! My mom makes traditional "custardy" corn pudding - not my favorite. But I decided to try this because I loved DD&D and it looked amazing on TV. It was! Made it for Thanksgiving, and will definitely have it for Christmas. Can't say enough.

First I want to say that I love Guy and triple D I thought this would be hard to make looking at the recipe but it was so easy. They were fighting over the last helping. I only did 2 things different. I used canned corn ( shameful I know and regular ground pepper. But this is an awesome recipe. I did a cajun cook out with boneless, boudine stuffed chicken and grilled cajun shrimp with standard southern fried taters.. But this was definately the big hit of the day. I love Diner's, Drive in's and Dives. Did I mention that. I get loads of good recipes from this show.. Thanks so much..

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Butter the bottom and sides of a 3-quart baking dish, and sprinkle the breadcrumbs evenly to coat the bottom and side of the dish.

Cut the corn off the cob in a large bowl then scrape the cob across the bowl a second time to release all the corn milk, and then set aside.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, add corn, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and cayenne. Saute for 2 to 3 minutes. Add bacon and saute until crisp. Add onions and bell peppers, cook until barely tender, then remove from heat.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream, milk, eggs, Parmesan, cornmeal, sugar, pepper and nutmeg until frothy. Add the corn mixture and stir to combine. Pour into the prepared baking dish and bake 35 to 40 minutes, until firm. Serve hot from the oven.
