Ingredients
- 16 large garlic cloves, unpeeled
- 1 1/2 tablespoons margarine
- 1 teaspoon dried whole basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried whole oregano
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour + 1 tablespoon
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup degreased turkey drippings
- 1/4 cup Chablis or other dry white wine
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

Step 1
1. Place garlic cloves on a baking sheet and bake at 350 for 20 minutes; let cool. Squeeze each clove to extract pulp and discard skins.
2. Melt margarine in medium size heavy saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic pulp, basil, oregano and saute 1 minute. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly with a wire whisk.
3. Gradually add chicken broth, drippings, wine and salt and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 2 minutes or until thickened.
