Prehat oven to 350. Heat a large skilet over low heat and add 2 tsp olive oil. Add 1 medium onion that has been thinly sliced and cook 15-20 minutes until golden. Remove and transfer to a plate. Then add 1 tsp olive oil and add 1/4 c finely chopped oninon and 1 clove minced garlic and cook 2-3 minutes. Add 2 tbsp of water and 1 1/2 c sliced mushrooms and cok additional 5 minutes. Sprinkle 3 tbsp flour and 1/2 tsp dried thyme over vegetables and stir. Gradually stir in 1 1/2 c skim milk. Increase heat to medium and stir constantly until sauce thickens. Cook 1 lb fesh green beans cut into 1 inch pieces in boiling water for 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside. Spray a 2 quart casserole with coooking spray and place the beans in casserole. Pour the mushroom sauce over the beans. Top with onions and 1/3 c fresh whole grain bread crumbs. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
