Cheese Fondue (white wine)
Easy to make White Wine Cheese Fondue is a perfect appetizer for a small gathering. Serve with good crusty bread cut into cubes, or some fresh veggies or fruits.
Ingredients
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 pound shredded gruyere or other melting cheese
- 2 tablespoons flour or cornstarch
- Dash nutmeg
- Dash cayenne pepper

Step 1
Rub the inside of the saucepan with a garlic clove, leave in the pan. Add wine, and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Toss cheese with the flour or cornstarch. Slowly add cheese to the pan, stirring until melted before adding more. Discard the garlic, season sauce with nutmeg and cayenne pepper. Transfer to a fondue pot or slow cooker on low. Serve with bread or other dippers.
