Strawberry Marzipan Bars

Ingredients

• Crumbs:
• 1 1/4 c flour
• 1/3 c brown sugar
• 1/2 c butter
• Filling:
• 3/4 c flour
• 1/2 c brown sugar
• 1/4 c butter
• 1/8 t salt
• 1 t almond extract
• 3/4 c strawberry preserves
• Glaze:
• 3/4 c conf. sugar
• 1 T milk
• 1 t almond extract

Preparation

Step 1

Gread and flour 9" pan. Combine crumb mix ingredients; press into pan. Bake at 350 deg for 15-20 mins. Combine all filling ingredients except preserves. Set aside. Press preserves to within 1/2" from edge of hot crust. Sprinkle reserved filling over preserves. Bake for 20-25 mins. Cool. Mix glaze and drizzle over cooled bars. Cut into bars.
