Jim M’s Kicked Up Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 12 oz. package fresh cranberries
- 3/4 cup water/orange juice/apple juice/or pmegranate juice
- 1 cup white sugar
- 3 T cognac
- 1/2 t cinnamon
- 1/4 t nutmeg
- 1/8 t allspice
- 1/4 t baking soda
- 1/4 t salt (important)
- 1 pint fresh blueberries

Preparation
Step 1
Bring cranberries to a boil in liquid, with sugar, cognac, baking soda and salt. Reduce heat to medium and cook for about 5 minutes. Gently crush some of the berries with the back of a wooden spoon.
Add cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and mix well. Remove from heat and add blueberries.
Cover and chill.
