Ingredients
- 2 cans crushed tomatoes - (28 oz ea)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil (or 1 tspn dried basil)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon freshly-ground black pepper
- 1 can low-fat evaporated milk - (12 oz)

Step 1
In a soup pot, combine the tomatoes, sugar, basil, garlic powder, and pepper; bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
Reduce the heat to low and slowly stir in the evaporated milk. Simmer for 4 to 5 minutes, or until heated through; do not allow to boil.
This recipe yields 7 servings. Serving size: 1 cup.
