Ingredients
- 2 medium baking apples unpeeled, and cubed into 1" pieces
- 1 medium pear unpeeled, and cubed into 1" pieces
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup apple juice concentrated
- 3 whole cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 cardamom pods
- 2 allspice berries

Step 1
Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan over high heat.
Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes, until the apples and pears are soft. Add more water if necessary.
