Ingredients

  • 2 medium baking apples unpeeled, and cubed into 1" pieces
  • 1 medium pear unpeeled, and cubed into 1" pieces
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup apple juice concentrated
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 2 allspice berries

Step 1

Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan over high heat.

Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes, until the apples and pears are soft. Add more water if necessary.
