Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 pound pepper bacon, apple wood-smoked if available
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 large onions, chopped
- Salt and pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground thyme
- 1 large bay leaf
- 1 small Honeycrisp apple, peeled and chopped, optional
- 1/3 cup bourbon
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 1 pound whole wheat farfalle
- Grated Parmigiano-Reggiano or Grano Padano cheese
Blueberries and Cream Cake

Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease a 9" tube pan
- 1 C butter
- 1 3/4 C sugar
- 2 eggs
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 3/4 C flour

- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 cup of fresh blueberries
- 1 Tbsp. flour
So-Tender Short Ribs

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- 4 pounds beef short ribs
- 1 large onion, cut into chunks
- 2 medium-sized red bell peppers, cut into inch strips
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 cup ready-to-use beef broth
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

- 1 medium onion, finely chopped

- 2 tablespoons California Olive Ranch® Olive Oil

Skillet Turnips

Wash turnips; pare. Cut into 1/4-inch cubes
- 1 1/2 pounds white turnips
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Down-Home Shredded Pork

- 1 (2-pound) pork tenderloin, trimmed, rinsed, and patted dry
- 1 cup diet root beer
- 1 1/4 cups barbecue sauce

Macaroni Taco Bake

- 2 packages (7-1/4 ounces each) macaroni and cheese dinner mix
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup chunky salsa
- 2 cups crushed tortilla chips
- 1 can (2-1/4 ounces) sliced ripe olives, drained
- 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Mexican cheese blend
- Sour cream, optional
Reindeer Cookies

- 1 (18-ounce) package refrigerated peanut butter or sugar cookie dough
- 48 small pretzel twists
- 48 brown M&M's candies
- 24 red M&M's candies
Vegetarian Lasagna

BOIL: Cook noodles as directed on package
- SAUCE:
- 1 Box (8 noodles) of whole grain lasagna noodles.
- 2 bunches of spinach. (washed thoroughly and chopped)
- 1 6 oz.. can olives chopped
- 1 lb chopped mushrooms
- 24 ounces cottage cheese
- 8 ounces of low fat mozzarella cheese
- 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese
- 15-oz can crushed tomatoes
- 15-oz can tomato sauce
- Tomato paste to thicken (about 4 tablespoons)
- 1 clove crushed Garlic
- 1 tsp Oregano
- 2 tsp Basil
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- salt & pepper to taste
