  • 1 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1 Tablespoon canola oil
  • 2 teaspoons coarse kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 Tablespoon baking soda
  • 8 Tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 2 cups (about 8 ounces) smoked or regular Marcona almonds, coarsely chopped*
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fleur de sel (sea salt)
  • Marcona almonds are tender Spanish nuts that are usually roasted and salted. They're available at specialty foods stores and some supermarkets.

  • 2 (15 1/2oz) cans of black beans- rinsed and drained
  • shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • sour cream (optional)
